Director - Wes Ball:

The Maze Runner movie will be directed by Wes Ball.  And although, Ball owns his own special effects company (OddBall), I believe he'll make a great director for this film.  According to a retweet from James Dashner, Wes Ball states that his first priority for the film will be with the characters, not FX.  Which leads me to think that character development will be very strong throughout the first movie (and others, if The Maze Runner is successful).

Ball has also recently made his own short, Ruin, which went viral and earned this aspiring director his own, in developement, feature-length film which has been picked up by 20th Century Fox Studios.

Wes Ball is not only a special effects expert; he also has many credits for animation, writing, directing in other projects, editor, camera and electrical production, cineamatographer, visual effects, and production designer.  We've got a multi-talented guy running our Maze!

Writer(s) - James Dashner & Noah Oppenheim:

James Dashner, as we all know, is the author for The Maze Runner trilogy, along with many other books; he (as it goes with many other books-made-into-movies) did not contribute a whole bunch to the writing side of the screenplay for the film.  Although, Mr. Dashner did tweet that Wes Ball stayed true to the book in many ways, yet made sure it was like hearing of The Maze Runner for the first time.

Noah Oppenheim was the central writer for the script verision of The Maze Runner.  However, Oppenheim is very skilled in producing, I believe, with the expertise of Mr. Wes, that the screenplay turned out a job well done!
